A medical industry client approached Tech Tube to tube draw a passivated diagnostic probe. We began by prototyping the probe through an exhaustive research and development process.
We selected alloys that would yield the most consistent test results without having to add a coating. Our specialized research allowed us to convert the probe from plated stainless steel to a more resilient, custom-made Tube Methods portfolio alloy.
After we arrived at a final design, we put the tubing through an extensive fabrication process, which included tube drawing, end forming and polishing the probes. The inside diameter of the tubing was polished to a 16 RA finish. We then tested, packaged and shipped the probes worldwide.
