A medical industry client approached Tech Tube to tube draw a passivated diagnostic probe. We began by prototyping the probe through an exhaustive product engineering and support process.
We selected alloys that would yield the most consistent test results without the need for an added coating. Our specialized expertise enabled us to convert the probe from plated stainless steel to a more resilient, custom-made Tech Tube portfolio alloy.
Once specifications were finalized, we put the tubing through an extensive fabrication process, which included tube drawing, end forming, and polishing the probes. The inside diameter of the tubing was polished to a 16 RA finish. We then tested, packaged, and shipped the probes worldwide.
